Barry E. Evans, Director of Bands
Barry Evans has Director of Bands at Topeka West High School and French Middle School since 1993. He is currently serving as the Department Chair for the Music Department at Topeka West. He received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Kansas in 1992.
In his many years as Director of Bands at Topeka West, the band has grown in both quality and quantity. In his first year, the band of 65 started attending marching contests and concert band contests. Since 1996 the band has received consistant superior ratings and top ranking at marching band festivals and division I ratings at concert band festivals.
Barry is a member of NEMC, KMEA, KBA, and NEA. He has been selected to Who's Who Among American Teachers numerous times. Barry has been the guest conductor for the Northeast Kansas 7th and 8th grade Honor Band, Topeka Youth Wind Ensemble, Washburn University Band, and a guest clinician for the Topeka Catholic School Band Day. In 2008 he was selected as the Northeast Kansas Music Education Associations Outstanding High School Music Educator. In 2010 Barry was selected as the High School Distinguished Staff Member for USD 501: Topeka Public Schools, and represented USD 501 as a candidate for the Kansas Teacher of the Year. In 2015 He was the Topeka Public School nominee for Kansas Master Teacher of the Year.
Barry is happily married to his wife, Pam, and has a son, Preston. He also spends a lot of time with family and their Miniature Dachshund "Rascel."

Kevin Harry, Assistant Director of Bands, Percussion Instructor
Kevin Harry is Assistant Director of Bands and the Percussion Instructor at Topeka West High School. He is also the Director of Instrumental Music at McClure and Whitson Elementary School. Kevin has a Bachelors of Music Education from Washburn University, where he played percussion in many ensembles and directed numerous high school drum lines.
Kevin has taught at Topeka West since 1994. Prior to teaching at Topeka West, he was the Director of Bands at Jackson Heights High School. Kevin is a member of NEMC, KMEA, KBA, Phi Mu Alpha, and NEA.
His percussion ensembles have consistantly recieved superior ratings at regional and state level festivals. In 2006 the Topeka West Percussion Ensemble performed at the KMEA Convention.

Stacey Harry, Color Guard Director
Stacey Harry has been the Charger Guard director at Topeka West High School since 1994. Her guard experience comes from her many years with the Mustang High School Guard and the Washburn University Color Guard. Stacey has brought the Topeka West Charger Guard from its beginning seven members to an award winning guard. Stacey works for the Pediatrics Associates of Topeka. She volunteers ALL of her time to work with the Charger Guard. Stacey is happily married to her husband, Kevin (the Assistant Director of Bands), and has two children, Krystal and Kristian.

Daniel Albertson, Percussion Tech
A graduate of Eisenhauer High School, Daniel has volunteered his time, while studying at Washburn University, to help with the Percussion.
Krystal Harry , Color Guard Tech
A Graduate of Topeka West and Washburn University, Krystal has volunteered her time, while teaching at McClure Elementry, to help with the Color Guard.
